Javier Vázquez

Javier Vázquez continually seeks to participate in the contemporary aesthetic as a politically incorrect artist. His installations and paintings delves into society issues such as immigration, globalisation or digital communication. The mixed techniques used allow to create a dialogue between a timeless idea and an essential contemporary character. The artist invite the public to reflect and to travel with him maintaining his own experience, tied to memories and totally subjective conceptions.
He studied at the Superior School of Art Prilidiano Pueyrredón.
He has participated in exhibitions in Buenos Aires and Spain. He was selected in competitions such as the National Hall of Visual Arts (ARG) and Center of Contemporary Expressions in Rosario (ARG).
He received mentions and prizes as a sculptor in the "XVIII Salón del Tango Ilustrador Sigfredo Pastor" where he obtained the 1° Sculpture Prize. In the "National Festival of Street Art Mina Clavero" 1° Mention and the 1° Prize in Contemporary Art Municipal San Isidro (ARG)
He currently teaches at the UNA (National University of Arts) in Buenos Aires. He is director of the Secretary of Culture in Vicente López, Buenos Aires and continues with his artistic activity
